Light Up Jackson for the Holidays

Ring the bells! “Yule” be happy to hear that the City of Jackson is bringing back the holiday decorating contest – now citywide. Residents and local businesses are encouraged to show their festive spirit and add some holiday sparkle to Jackson.

So, dust off those holiday decorations, untangle those lights, inflate those Christmas characters and decorate your home or business from head to mistletoe for the best Christmas decorations contest the city has ever seen.

By participating in the contest, homes and businesses will be placed on our Holiday Decorating Tour Map so that residents and visitors can experience holiday cheer throughout the city. If you think you have the most festive decorations, now is the time to register.

We welcome sign up from those who do not want to be judged as well.

Residential:

“Magical Winter Wonderland” awards for overall neighborhood.

• City of Jackson will judge the entire neighborhood for the following criteria:

1. Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
2. Story line or theme throughout the neighborhood
3. Overall display and presentation of decoration
4. Overall presentation

“Best In Snow” award for best overall display.

• City of Jackson will judge the following criteria:

1. Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
2. Overall display and presentation of decoration

“Santa’s Workshop” award for inflatable decoration.

• City of Jackson will judge the following criteria:

1. Display and presentation inflatable decorations
2. Overall presentation

People’s Choice Award overall city-wide Jackson.

•  Residents will judge the following criteria:

1.  Overall presentation

Businesses:

“Light up the City” award for Jackson business.

“Take an ‘Elfie” award for downtown business window and entrance decorations.

• City of Jackson will Judge the following criteria:

1. Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations
2. Story line or Theme
3. Display and presentation of decoration
4. Overall presentation

Awards:

• ALL winners will receive a holiday decorating contest window or lawn sign.

• Photos of winning homes and businesses will be shared on the city website and social media platforms.

• All winners will receive a Trophy for bragging rights and a gift card.

• Winners will be notified by telephone or email December 8th 2022
