Emergency Plan for Freezing Weather Days Jan. 23-27, 2026

JACKSON, Tenn. -- The City of Jackson in partnership with First United Methodist Church will extend emergency services to provide a Temporary Warming Center for homeless men, women and children for freezing weather days beginning Friday night, January 23, 2026, and continuing through Tuesday night, January 27, 2026. The following plan has been devised to provide a temporary warming center for homeless men, women, and children seeking aid.
Temporary Warming Center Location:
- Men seeking shelter on should meet at the TR White Sports Complex at 4:00 PM
- Women seeking shelter should meet at First United Methodist Church Mission Center (200 S. Church St. Jackson, TN) at 4:00 PM
Volunteer and Donations:
The community is encouraged to volunteer their time if possible and the following items.
- Volunteers willing to serve in 4-hour shifts.
- Personal hygiene kits and Blankets
- Drop off at First Methodist - Downtown Jackson, TN Between 8:00 - 1:00 Wednesday and Thursday and 1:00- 5:00 on Friday
- Monetary Donations can be made to The Hope and Healing Foundation
