Jackson, Tenn. – The City of Jackson is excited to join local governments nationwide in celebrating the 11th Annual City Hall Selfie Day on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Organized by Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL), the national event showcases civic pride, highlights local history, and honors the daily contributions of public servants.
This year we are excited to announce that Miss Tennessee Volunteer 2027 Karenna Rainey will be present for selfies as well.
In addition to taking photos outside, participants are invited inside City Hall to explore two featured historical exhibits: the Woolworth Sit-ins exhibit on the 1st floor, and "In This Moment: A Visualization of 200 Years of Jackson-Madison County History" by artist Lendon Noe on the 2nd floor, as well as art on display for American Artist Appreciation Month . Those looking for an extra touch of local heritage can also visit Jackson's historic former City Hall building at 314 E. Main St., home of The Ned Theatre.
“Jackson has a lot to be proud of, and that starts with the people who make this community what it is,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “City Hall Selfie Day is a chance to celebrate that pride, and I hope everyone will stop by, take a selfie, and help showcase the spirit that makes Jackson a special place.”
Take a Photo: On or before August 11, 2026, snap a photo or video of yourself, a group, or fellow community members in front of Jackson City Hall, The Ned, or any local public building.
