City of Jackson to Celebrate the American Flag during Flag Day Ceremony
Posted on 06/07/2021

JACKSON, Tenn. – The community is invited to participate in the Flag Day Ceremony at Liberty Garden Park, located at 24 Channing Way, on Monday, June 14, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.

Keep Jackson Beautiful, in partnership with the City of Jackson, Madison County, Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter #995, will celebrate the recognition of our stars and stripes, The Flag of The United States of America. American Flags will line the Freedom Walking Trail in remembrance of those fallen and in honor of those who continue to fight for our Liberty and Freedom.

“We look forward to celebrating our flag each year. This year is no different,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “The Flag Day ceremony this year is additionally meaningful because we are able to honor two of our local veterans, Joseph Davis and Wayne Monks.”

Joseph Henry Davis, 8th Air Force, is a WWII Veteran and Wayne Monks, First Lieutenant 24 Infantry Division 21 Regiment third Battalion, is a Korean War Veteran.

The American flags will be on display from June 9 through June 19.
