Street Lighting

Street lights are viewed as an important city service because they provide light in places where residents are walking, biking, and driving. The purpose of the City’s street lights are to light the roadway to improve safety for drivers, riders, and pedestrians. Authorizing the location and placement of street lights is the responsibility of the Engineering Department. Thereafter, our local utility provider, Jackson Energy Authority (JEA), provides the maintenance and installation of the street lighting.

To report a street light outage or request outdoor lighting for your home or property, contact Jackson Energy Authority at 731-422-7500.

If you wish to request additional street lighting for the roadway, please contact the City Engineering Department at 731-425-8220 or email [email protected].
