Voting now open for top three designs for new city flag
Posted on 05/17/2022

JACKSON, Tenn. – The top three designs for the new flag for the City of Jackson, TN have been selected. Votes can be casted by visiting www.jacksontn.gov/residents/flagdesigncontest.

In celebration of Jackson-Madison County Bicentennial, the City of Jackson sponsored a design contest to create a fresh, unifying design for a new City of Jackson flag. The public was invited in February to participate in the city’s new flag design contest and a wide variety of Jackson residents submitted designs to Mayor Scott Conger’s office for this important historical occasion.

“I’m excited about having our new city flag in time for the end of our city’s bicentennial celebration,” said Mayor Scott Conger. “Thank you to all the artists who submitted designs for this contest.”

The City of Jackson Public Art Commission narrowed the entries to three finalists. The public is invited to view the top three designs, share comments and vote for their favorite through May 31. To choose the final design, the Public Art Commission will evaluate public comments and the entry getting the most votes.

Voting is open to all residents of the City of Jackson, TN.

“A city flag is a timeless symbol capturing the essence and diversity of our community,” said Andrew Boks, Chairman of the Public Arts Commission. “I look forward to which flag our community chooses.”

The artist selected for the final design will be notified July 1, 2022. The artist will then be recognized along with the new flag design, which will be unveiled to the public during the Jackson-Madison County Bicentennial event on August 12, 2022 at The Carl Perkins Civic Center.
